“The Fairfield County community has really stepped up, helping to bring light to the dark days these children and their families face while in treatment. We are told time and again how much these very special gifts truly mean to the children who receive them and how it changes their lives so dramatically.” said Nikki Kaldawy, event coordinator at Mikey’s Way Foundation.
“Mikey would be so pleased to see the reach of the foundation he began in 2005. Beacon of Hope is the perfect way to raise funds with a fun and uplifting event that Mikey would have definitely approved of.” said Les Friedman, Mikey’s Way CEO.
Founded by Mikey Friedman, who was diagnosed at 15 with a rare form of cancer, Mikey’s Way Foundation gives laptop computers, tablets, and other Wi-Fi ready electronics to kids affected by the emotional and physical hardships of long-term debilitating treatment. They distribute these electronic gifts via their Mikey’s Way Day and Mikey’s Wish List programs to children all over the country. The gifts provide diversion and connection with family and friends, helping them to cope with cancer… Mikey’s Way.
